Financial Management for the HR Professional
What Do the Numbers Mean?
This six week
course will teach you the fundamentals underlying the flow
of financial information used for the preparation and interpretation
of financial statements. You will learn to present proof
that the return on investment in human resources is valuable
to the profitability of the company.

market interpret financial statements?
- Analysis of financial
statements
- Effects of pensions, health care benefits, and
stock options on financial statements
- Basic elements of
managerial accounting
- Metrics that HR managers use to
assess the effects of HR decisions on the bottom line
Who should
take this course?
HR professionals who have strategic planning
or policymaking responsibilities, or have at least 3 years
of HR experience, or completed the SHRM Learning System,
or have PHR or SPHR certification
Instructor:
Dr. Morgan
Milner Dr. Milner received his Ph.D. in the field of Organizational
Behavior from Michigan State University. Prior to pursuing
a career in research and academia, Dr. Milner worked in a
variety of business fields including banking, investment
finance, insurance, and consumer products finance. Since
completing his Ph.D., Dr. Milner continues to apply business
theory as a consultant and real estate investor. Dr. Milner
has published articles and has given presentations in top
business venues. In addition, he continues in the EMU tradition
of placing a strong emphasis on quality teaching experiences.
HRCI Recertification credit: 16 hours (requires
attendance at all six sessions)
