HR Metrics
Measuring and Marketing the Human Resources Organization

The goal of becoming strategic is to work in conjunction with management to increase a company's competitiveness and correspondingly, a company's profits or stock value. A critical component of becoming strategic includes finding ways to justify HR expenses to top management. Metrics and measurements play an important role. This course will show you how to develop methods to track the effectiveness of your HR policies and to present proof of return on investment.

Who should take this course?
This course is one in the Eastern Michigan University Continuing Education Strategic Human Resource Management Series for advanced HR professionals. It is recommended for HR professionals who have strategic-planning or policy-making responsibilities, have at least 3 years of human resources experience, and/or are PHR/SPHR certified.

What will you learn?
Learn how to effectively measure, market and demonstrate the critical importance of the Human Resource contribution to your organization's bottom line. In this four week course, you will analyze human capital measurements and demonstrate how such metrics support business objectives. In better understanding how the human resource measures drive better business results, you will also learn to "market" your HR function to your key internal clients. This course will show you how to develop methods to track the effectiveness of the HR organization, policies and processes, and to present proof that the return on the investment in Human Resources is valuable to the profitability of the company.

You will learn to develop ways to quantify HR contributions to your company's profits and assist with long-term objectives to guide your company to a successful future. This course presents HR roles in marketing as internal consultants, as well as metrics being used for strategic development.
